Senior IT Project Manager
Location: USA and Portugal
Job Summary:
This is a customer-facing position that requires excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle. Duties include managing customer expectations in regard to the planned scope of work, managing upcoming releases, updating current project status, identifying potential blockers, and managing staffing requirements and timelines.
The Senior IT Project Manager is expected to be in constant communication with the engineering teams in order to ensure positive and effective collaboration. Senior IT Project manager facilitates day-to-day meetings and ceremonies, as well as the brainstorming sessions that might be attended by the internal team members and external stakeholders.
Senior IT Project Manager Responsibilities:
Manage software development projects on a day-to-day basis. Serve as a focal point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate team collaboration using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe Agile methodologies. The methodology type is dependent upon the project. [Experience with the Scrum methodology is required.]
Recommend a specific methodology to be applied based on the project's nature and size.
Identify initiatives, for the client’s associated priorities and complexities, and ensure all project stakeholders’ visions are aligned.
Evaluate feature and change requests, and directly manage the work of the business and system analysts assigned to the project.
Create and manage the product development roadmap.
Calculate team capacity and plan workload on an incremental basis. Understand the staffing needs of the project, including the required skill sets and personnel hours.
Understand the communication needs of each client and execute accordingly. Ensure communication consistency. Create weekly status reports for the internal management and the client.
Problem solve, explain technological challenges, and propose solutions. Be able to communicate complex technological concepts on a high level to C-level executives.
Facilitate release planning meetings with all involved parties (may include customer infrastructure teams, marketing teams, operations teams, etc). Serve as a focal point for the Release Management activities on all assigned projects.
Monitor financial KPI (including velocity) on the assigned projects.
Collaborate with Human Resources to effectively manage team performance, and proactively solve any performance-related issues within the assigned teams.
Collaborate with the Sales team to identify upsell opportunities on the assigned accounts.
Other tasks as agreed by the parties.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical/business discipline.
3+ years of experience in an IT Project Management role including proven experience managing agile teams and running concurrent projects;
Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, and management skills, with experience translating business requirements into technological solutions.
Thorough knowledge of software development lifecycle and/or infrastructure project delivery.
Hands-on experience in configuration of workflows, reports, permissions and dashboards, and sprints in Jira, Azure DevOps, Monday, Asana, or an alternative project management software.
Ability to communicate fluently in writing and verbally in the English language.
A certified Scrum Master credential or an alternative (PMP, PMI, Prince 2) is a plus.
Experience in software development for the HealthTech domain (the following terms should sound familiar: EHR, Smart on FHIR, Telemedicine, Synthetic Data, etc) is a plus.
Understanding HIPAA, PHI, and associated security standards relevant to the engineering realm is a plus.
